This program provides the basic knowledge of soil and plant relationships and combined with “hands-on” training that allows students to gain valuable experience. With the Crop Science Lab located on the KOCH Nitrogen facility, students will learn to: Take soil tests and understand the interactions of nutrients in the soil and how to make sound nutrient recommendations based on University models. Identify pests, including weeds to insects and control options. Observing today’s crop and production systems that are above average in this changing environment. Learn about the new technologies for irrigation, residue management and drought tolerance.
