The Music Department at Dodge City Community College offers a full range of academic music courses, private study and performance opportunities for all students regardless of major. We believe in the philosophy of quality and excellence in education, which is reflected in the musical experiences provided for our students and the success of our students in the larger musical community.
For the Music Major, the college offers a full curriculum of academic and performance opportunities preparing students for advanced studies in music performance, music education, music therapy and a variety of other musical fields. Students are well prepared for transfer to a competitive four-year college for any undergraduate degree program in music.
For the Non-Music Major, the college believes in a philosophy of inclusion, where any student desiring a musical experience has the opportunity to perform, learn and grow as a musician. Many ensembles are open to all students and others are open to any student or community member by audition. Students find the ensemble experience challenging and rewarding as they pursue a wide variety of literature for their musical education and enjoyment. Courses, lessons and ensembles lead students to continue the life-long pursuit and enjoyment of music.
We are here to collaborate with you in devising and achieving your personal and musical goals.
The following private lessons are available to those enrolling in Applied Music classes:
Scholarships are available to all students who qualify for participation in any of the above ensembles regardless of major.
