Six Essential Steps to Financial Aid Success

  1. Apply for a DC3 scholarship. The application can be found here.
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Grab the tax return information from two years prior and go to fafsa.gov to fill out the form. Apply as soon as possible after October 1 of each year that you will attend. Our school code is 001913
  3. Look at outside scholarship opportunities.
  4. Be ready to respond to any requests from the Financial Aid office immediately. Your ability to respond quickly will help us do our best to help you get approved.
  5. Evaluate whether you will need a Federal Direct Student Loan. If so, contact the Financial Aid office.
  6. Review the Dodge City Community College Financial Aid Guidelines, Satisfactory Academic Progress and Rights and Responsibilities

About Scholarships & Grants

  • In order to be eligible for student financial aid, students must possess a high school diploma or a general educational development (GED) diploma from an approved institution or agency.
  • Enrollment status for financial aid:
  • Scholarship students must maintain a full-time enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
  • Grant students must maintain a full-time enrollment status of at least 6 credit hours per term.
  • Scholarships are available only during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Recipients must be enrolled in an associate degree (AA, AS, AGS, AAS) or technical certificate program.
  • Scholarships are not available to students enrolled only in EDUKAN classes.
  • Students are eligible to apply for a scholarship until completion of a Dodge City Community College Associate Degree (AA, AS, AGS, AAS) or six semesters, whichever is first.
  • Funds are limited. Completion of the scholarship application does not guarantee an award.
